Jersey Johnstad

Jersey joined our family on March 24, 2011 after we spent countless hours in the car traveling the state of Minnesota looking for the perfect Boston Terrier. She instantly had a new big brother and sister who were Labrador Retrievers and we were constantly worried about making sure she wouldn’t get trampled or played with too hard as she was so much smaller than they were. We quickly realized that Jersey would be able to hold her own and those little legs could move much faster than the other dogs. Over the years, Jersey ended up being the “big” sister to countless other pets in our home and while she didn’t always enjoy a new addition to the family at first, she showed them the ropes and endless amounts of affection. We were absolutely blessed to have Jersey with us for 14 years and in the end, her blindness, hearing loss and overall health concerns became more than what she could cope with. Jersey passed away peacefully at home with her human mom, dad and sister by her side.

We will forever miss our loyal work from home companion, the snuggles on the couch, having a bonfire buddy in the chair with us, sneaking extra treats so the other dogs didn’t know and most of all, the unconditional love.

Jersey has now rejoined her brothers, sisters, and beloved family members who are no longer with us and I am sure they will enjoy all of her snuggles and kisses as much as we did. Rest in peace buddy, we will forever miss you.
