The day I walked into the sanctuary, Dr. Pepper greeted me almost instantly; and even though I didn't know it at the moment, he had already chosen his forever home. He followed me everywhere in the sanctuary, slowly stealing bits of my heart. Visiting hours ended and something just felt missing as I headed home. A few days later, I went back to the sanctuary. The moment I walked in, Dr. Pepper was at my feet following my every move. That is when I learned how the whole cat distribution system worked. On that very day, November 3rd, 2024, Dr. Pepper was adopted (along with his brother, Chewbacca).
Dr. Pepper had a bit of a rough transition before realizing he was safe, loved, and very, very spoiled. He was a HUGE mama's boy and was always at my feet. He loved his head/chin scratches, was playful and cuddly, and loved watching the birds with his brother.
I will forever miss his flops and his middle of the night 'mom meows'.
Dr. Pepper will be missed greatly and forever remembered by his family; Krystal, Keigen, Averie, Emersyn and his fur brother, Chewbacca.
"The day I met him, I knew he was the one. He was our little baby. I will miss him forever and he will always be in our hearts!" - Emersyn
"He passed on April 1st knowing he had a good home and he is forever our baby. He is very loved and missed by his family and his brother, Chewbacca. Rest in peace Dr. Pepper. We love you!" - Averie
"Dr. Pepper found my mom wondering in the sanctuary and automatically knew she was the one for him. He adapted slowly to his new home but made sure he let everyone pet him and give him nose boops, especially his mama! He was loved greatly and is still to this day. Perfect name just for him. Rest in peace Dr. Pepper. We love you!" - Keigen.
